Korzin V. Agronomic and biological features of introduced varieties and forms of apricot in southern Ukraine

The object of research - biological peculiarities, agricultural and breeding value of apricot varieties and forms. The aim of research - to determine the adaptive possibilities of new introduced apricot varieties and forms to the conditions of the South of the Ukraine. The methods of research: phenological, morphological, biometrical, statistical, methods of laboratory and field experiment. The results of research: the biological peculiarities have been determined; the complex evaluation of agronomic characteristics of 80 introduced apricot varieties and forms has been done; the level of their adaptation in the conditions of the South of the Ukraine has been established. Three varieties Large Early, Magistr, Mandule Kajszi, recommended for industrial testing and 48 varieties recommended for using in breeding programs have been selected. The peculiarities of drought resistance and field resistance to Monilia cinerea and Clasterosporium carpophilum, blossom and ripening periods, productivity, chemical composition of fruits have been established.
