Polyova L. Professional Training of Tourism Managers in Poland

The dissertation examines the content, forms, and methods of professional training of tourism managers in Poland's higher education. Using historical literature, the dissertation discusses the stages in the establishment and development of tourism managers and professional training in tourism. Each of the stages is examined in view of the influences of socioeconomic and educational processes. The functioning of the system of professional training of tourism managers in Poland's higher education is analyzed. The principles of its organization (credit-based modular learning) and operation (openness, accessibility, continuity, relations of higher education with other countries) are described. The features of the content of Bachelor and Master's Degree training of tourism managers are examined using four Polish higher education institutions as examples. The rationale for the specificity of methods and lecture-based and field-based forms of training of future tourism managers is provided. The possibilities of using the experience of tourism manager training in Poland to transform Ukraine's higher education are determined. Topical issues in Poland's higher education are examined.
