Object: teacher professional development in the USA. Aim: to determine the peculiarities of secondary school teachers' professional development in educational associations and unions of the USA and to define the possibilities of progressive American ideas realization in Ukraine. Practical value: recommendations concerning transferring progressive ideas of American experience into Ukraine have been substantiated; experimental educational course, distance courses for improvement of teacher professional skills, professional development project have been elaborated and approbated. Methods: expository, analytical, synthesis, systematization, comparison, theoretical generalizing.
