Essay

The thesis is devoted to teaching written two-way translation of commercial letters to future philologists. In the thesis the methodology of teaching written two-way translation of commercial letters to future philologists has been developed based on the sound theoretical grounds. The model of the written translation process has been suggested, the classification and typology of commercial letters have been worked out and theoretically substantiated. The typical difficulties of written translation have been defined. On the basis of the written translation phases, the typology of the stated difficulties has been developed. The model of the structure and content of written translation competence has been worked out and theoretically substantiated. Using the results of the conducted theoretical study, the subsystem of exercises intended for teaching written two-way translation of commercial letters to future philologists, the stages of teaching and two variants of the model of teaching have been developed. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology of teaching written two-way translation of commercial letters to future philologists has been verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. Based on the results of the theoretical study and experimental teaching, the methodological recommendations for teaching written two-way translation of commercial letters to future philologists have been elaborated.
