Essay

The thesis analytically describes the lexical stock of Donetsk region which was formed as a special segment of the polylingual region of the South-Eastern Ukraine. The basis of its description is an onomasiological principle which allows to distinguish the direction of the nomination processes, the choice of the nomination features, its reasons (aetiology) in different periods of the toponymy development of this area, nomination types of the place names and the regularity of the lexical means used by the multilingual population of the region to designate place names.
