The dissertation is an original effort of present day political research problem - gender policy of the transition states, first of all, Ukraine and Russia.In the thesis is basically analyzed gender situation in Ukraine at the end of the last and at the beginning of the new centuries, critically comprehended problems and perspectives of realization it's gender policy on the modern stage of internationally-political transformations, possible models of overcoming of gender inequality existing in Ukrainian society are proposed, concerning investigated instrumental parts of consecutive realization strategies of gender equality of European Union, some separated countries of former socialistic society.Elucidated and investigated the features of gender policy in Russian Federation during the period of globalization on the base of indicators, that characterize the women's participation and powers in politics, economics and sphere of management, proved the existing of significant asymmetry in this country, which are associated with demographic problem and the situation on the labor market, substantiated international influences on the realization of Russian gender strategy.The thesis is based on the theoretical and methodological researches of the scientific problem, the generalization of the Ukrainian and foreign political scientists' points of view on the fact resources such as international and national legislation acts on the questions of gender equality, human rights, results of scientifically researching, analytical and statistical centers of Ukraine, Russian Federation, European Union, UN
