Essay

Based on the analysis of content of the professional training of a future performing musician a solution to the problem of development of the professional hermeneutic skills of students of musical performing specialties of higher musical educational institutions has been resolved for the first time in the dissertation. The hermeneutic approach has been defined as a conscious focus of a teacher on implementation of the complex of principles, techniques and methods of teaching, cognition and understanding of reality in his/her activity by bringing a personal vision of the conceptual aspects of the activity object content. This requires wide engagement of motivational-volitional, cognitive, emotional, and creative activity spheres of a personality, and contributes to personal self-fulfillment of a student in professional activity. The main principles of the hermeneutic approach to the interpretation of musical composition have been defined: 1) the principle of priority of a personality in the process of interpretation; 2) the principle of a spiritual dominant as the basis for interpretation; 3) the principle of value direction of understanding. The essence of the concept "the professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician" has been theoretically grounded and defined. The content of the professional hermeneutic skills has been defined as interpretation ability of an individual based on the acquired knowledge and skills and world-view guidance, subjective vision of the performing musical composition, activation of spiritual forces, bringing human values as a basis for professional music performance activities. The professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician have been structured in accordance with the spheres of a performing musician personality which are actualized in creative professional activity. The professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician are the skills: to perceive music phenomena from the perspective of personal and universal values, to actualize own world-view in the interpretation process (motivational-volitional sphere); to cognize the content of a musical composition based on internal interpersonal dialogue with its author, independently solve the contradictions of perception of the musical composition content due to the specifics of the hermeneutic circle (cognitive sphere); to identify own feelings with the feelings of the composer, to interpret a musical composition based on empathy and emotional experience of its content (emotional sphere); constantly expand and deepen the understanding of a performing musical composition content, to actualize the personal understanding of a musical composition content in its independent interpretation (creative activity sphere). The development criteria of the professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician have been defined: 1) motivational-volitional; 2) cognitive; 3) emotional; 4) creative activity. Three development levels of professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician have been defined: low, medium, high. The analysis of the diagnostic research results has found the insufficient development level of the professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician which has necessitated formulation of the appropriate pedagogical conditions and structural-component model. The pedagogical conditions for the development of professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician in professional training have been worked out: 1) value and conceptual direction of the creative personality of a future performing musician to comprehension of a musical composition content in professional activities; 2) development of a student's need to understand a musical composition content based on the worldview perspective; 3) reliance on the personal emotional experience of an interpreter in understanding a musical composition content; 4) orientation of a student on creative self-realization in social and cultural activities. The structural-component model of development of the professional hermeneutic skills of a future performing musician in the professional training has been worked out, grounded and checked by experiments. The research and experimental work has proven efficiency of the worked out model and methodology. The basis of the model is the interpretation activity which is not treated narrowly-specialized as an intellectual activity which aims at interpreting the music but much wider as cognition of Existence through involvement in musical and performing activities. Knowledge, skills, experience acquired by students in the course of professional training are integrated in the process of creating an artistic image of an interpreted music. Reconsideration and new understanding of conceptual aspects of a musical composition is the basis for professional growth and personal improvement of a future performing musician.
