The dissertation is devoted to the research of the problem of forming readiness of intending border guard officers to conflict situations resolution as an important component of their professional competence.The analysis of the basic conceptual approaches to the problem has been carried out; the essence, content and structure of readiness of intending border guard officers to resolution of conflict situations has been defined; criteria and indices of the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the level of formation of readiness of intending border guard officers to resolution of conflict situations has also been defined.The readiness of intending border guard officers to resolution of conflict situations is determined as an integrated skill, which is considered as a set of conflictological knowledge, abilities and skills of professional activity with required personality qualities that allow border guards to perform their professional functions in the situations of interpersonal conflict. There have been distinguished the following components of conflictological readiness of border guard officers: motivational and volitional, cognitive and operational, prognostic and creative.Based on the analysis of pedagogical literature and empirical experience of training specialists there has been elaborated and grounded the model of forming readiness of intending border guard officers to resolution of conflict situations, that reflects the interaction of various components and enables one to trace the dynamics of growth of this process.
