The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of international legal status and actual problems of reforming the UN Security Council. This article examines the historical and legal aspects of the organization and activities of the Security Council, analyzed the current international legal status of the body in terms of its place and role in the main UN bodies, international legal aspects of organization and competence to maintain international peace and security, research urgent problems of reforming the Security Council at the present stage. An generalization and classification of modern problems of the UN Security Council to maintain international peace and security.
