Udovenko V. Improvement of designs and agro technical parameters of means for overhead irrigation

This dissertation is written for attaining the Candidate of Technical Sciences Degree on a specialty 06.01.02 - Agricultural Reclamation (Technical Sciences) - Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Land Reclamation (National Academy of Agrarian Science), Kyiv, 2011. The dissertation is devoted to the scientific substantiation, improvement of irrigation designs and agro technical parameters of means for overhead irrigation. The investigations of agro technical parameters, pressure and consumption characteristics regarding the improvement of means for overhead irrigation and short-range sprinkler heads are carried out at laboratory benches as well as in working conditions in irrigating systems. The optimum hydraulic and energy parameters of the improved means for overhead irrigation, in particular - the expenditure of pressure and the specific expenditures of energy with the use of three versions of water distribution in pipelines of improved means for irrigation with the different types of sprinkler heads and appliances are determined. The method of the group use of wide-sprinkling machines and the advanced means for overhead irrigation on the basis of reduced energy consumption for irrigation and accounting the work technology of boom sprinklers is developed. Designs of mobile means for overhead irrigation are improved and the researches of their agro technical parameters are carried out in working conditions.
