The thesis covers a wide scope of security problems in relations between Ukraine and the EU. These include establishing of a stable constitutional and political order, internal and social security matters, economic aspects, including competition and opportunity, energy interests, the state of justice and liberties, international security issues and relations in the military and politico-military spheres. The author analyzed and generalized the main substantive provisions and the nature of the concept of security in its broadest sense of the term, as it was reflected in juridical acts and political documents signed between Ukraine and the EU. The argument that security factors have a principal role as a fundamental element within the political dialogue between the EU and Ukraine has been proved with the help of specific texts and details of political practice. The EU authorities suggest the establishment of the wider zone of political stability and favorable economic climate. These criteria are fully reflected in the European Neighbourhood Policy and Eastern Partnership which is a regional version of the Neighbourhood Policy.
