Essay

The Thesis presents the research of the basic approaches of Russian Federation to the military and political situation in the world and Europe. The stages of strategic containment conceptualization are defined. This concept is the basis for the modern Russian military and political strategy. The threats to the Russian foreign policy interests are analyzed. The Thesis contains the analyses of the Russian propositions on European security system reforming, and the research of the security strategy toward the post-soviet space is presented. As a result of the research such conclusions are determined: absence of the substantial dialogue among the key actors in Eurasia on military and political problems is one of the risk factors in present-day situation within the continent and as a result there is obvious the rise of the competition in international environment; the enforcement of the coalition component of the Russian military-political strategy is articulated; foreign policy aspects of the Russian military policy are low-effective for the purposes of the threats minimization in military and political security, so the diversification of the Russian approaches to the political and military strategy can be expected in side of its making more severe and flexible.
