Sevostianova N. Appeal to the European Court of Human Rights as the realization of the right to justice

The thesis presents research of the individual right to appeal under the con-ditions stipulated by international legal mechanism of access to the ECHR. Right to apply is considered in the light of the right of a person to justice in several respects, broadly - as a tool to activate the international legal mechanism for access to the ECHR, and narrowly - as an application form, to begin the judicial procedure regarding violations of the Convention. The paper analyzes the formation of the right to appeal and its development at different stages of evolution of human rights protection system of the Convention. The importance of real, not formal possibilities of this right is stressed.
