The dissertation is devoted to research and bibliographical activities of the National Library of Ukraine named after V. Vernadsky (NLUV) in the production and creation of textbooks, scientific methods of the process. The stages are highlighted, directions are shown, the contents of the bibliographic research libraries in different historical periods of activity are discovered. The necessity of understanding and disclosure NLUV role in the scientific and bibliographical activities is very important to bibliography during processing of the content, methods and forms of information and bibliographic needs of the Ukrainian society. The historiographical analysis has been made and the status issue has been assessed. The current state of scientific and bibliographic activity of V. Vernadsky national library which was based as a national and returned to the status of the 90 of XX century.
