TThe paper investigated the problem of studying the history of everyday life in 8-9 classes of secondary schools, indentified and analyzed the conceptual studies, showed values and features of the history of everyday life as a part of the historical content of modern school education, made a comprehensive analysis of current practices in teaching history in school's everyday courses of modern history, defined and theoretically grounded the content, scope and structure of educational material of the history of everyday life in 8-9 classes. The criteria, indicators and the level of competence were brought out by the perception, concept, cognitive skills and emotional value judgements of the history of everyday life of the students in 8th and 9th grades. The effectiveness of studying the history of everyday life in 8-9 classes were developed and experimentally verified. The progresses and analysis of experimental results were described and guidelines for its implementation were formulated.
