The thesis is dedicated to the study of the psychological peculiarities of the gifted child development in family conditions. The condition development description was used instead of the commonly-used measurement method in the study, based on the fact that personality as a whole is shown in the gifted development. Development of giftedness is considered as the unfolding of the structural and functional unit of the need. The attitude towards family education by Education majors and education professionals in comparison with the family education practitioners (parents of children that are studying externally) was investigated. A negative attitude of teachers for family education in general, and distrust of the quality of family education in particular was shown. An experimental study of the development of gifted (altodonal) children in five families was conducted. The results of the interviews made it possible to identify common features in the development of the gifted (altodonal) children, as well as some differences, which can be explained by individual characteristics of each individual and the nature of family relations. Five types of parents' reactions to the fact of the child giftedness were identified (negative, ignoring, hypersocial, positive and constructive/positive). The psychological and pedagogical recommendations for training and education of gifted children in a family were developed, which give the opportunity to raise awareness of the features that relate to the development of gifted children, which in turn positively affects the understanding of gifted children by their own parents.
