Shevtsov I. Pharmacognostic study of Allium cepa L. and obtaining of medical substances on its basis.

The thesis is devoted to the study of biologically active substances from skins of onion bulbs of Buran, Chaltsedon and Golden varieties and of substances obtained from them. The qualitative composition and quantitative content of main groups of biologically active substances was studied, 26 compounds were obtained in individual state and their structure was determined. The presence and quantitative content of 17 amino acids, 21 macro- and microelements, 23 fatty acids were determined. The dry extract of skins of onion bulbs was obtained, the quantitative content of main groups of biologically active substances in it and its expressed antimicrobial activity was determined. The standardization parameters and project of quality control methods for the raw material - skins of onion bulbs and the dry extract obtained from them were developed. A dietary supplement from the series “YUVET” “Vegetable from the onion” was created, its standardization parameters were determined and technical specifications TS U 15.8.-35477619-001:2008 (the producer – PE “Poroshkova galuz’ Ukrainy”) were developed.
