Оbject-beauty as a fiction-language universal, represented in texts of Ukrainian literature for children; purpose - to define a structure and composition of the associative-figurative field BEAUTY as verbalization of the appropriate fiction-language universal and to educe the features of functioning of its units in the language of the works of Ukrainian literature for children; methods - a method of system description of the linguistic phenomenon, component analysis, context analysis, lingual stylistic analysis, method of the field design; novelty - first in Ukrainian linguistics on material of the fiction texts for children the model of the associative-figurative field of fiction-language universal beauty is built and the functionally-semantic features of components of this field are educed in the investigated texts; mechanisms and facilities of creation of associative images of beauty are analysed, traditions and dynamics of their creation are traced; on the basis of questioning results of junior school students influence of texts of literature for children is found out on forming of the valued orientations of schoolchildren; results - aesthetic basis of understanding of beauty is found, status of the category beauty in linguistic researches is set; elementary and complex units of the associative-figurative field beauty of nature with aesthetic evaluation semantics are distinguished, their functions in artistic texts for children are investigated; paradigm classification of vocabulary on denotation of external beauty of man is carried out; verbal-figurative dominants that represent internal beauty of man are ascertained; the pragmatics of artistic texts for children in the aspect of forming aesthetic and ethics values in consciousness of child of is investigated; branch - lexicology, semantics, stylistics, еthnolinguistics, psycholinguistics, pragmalinguistics.
