The thesis is devoted to complex study of female costume of the barbarians of the South-western Crimea. On the basis of new finds from closed complexes the typology and chronology of some types of buckles and fibulas are specified. Functional details of a costume and decorations worn together in one set are singled out, defined and classified. Ethnic peculiarities of the costume are characterized: "Alanic" and "East-Germanic" components are singled out. The degree of impact of Byzantine fashion on clothes of local population is also studied. The location of things in situ in burials determines their purpose and place in a costume, the main types of garments are reconstructed.
