Essay

It is established that the lichen flora of Steppe zone of south-west of Ukraine numbers 205 species, 74 genus, 30 families and 12 orders. Three new lichen taxa are new for the whole Ukraine, 19 lichen species are new for the Steppe zone of Ukraine and 110 lichen species are new for the territory studied. The systematic and geographical structure of lichen flora were analized, the comparison with lichen flora of the adjacent territories as well as eco-substrate and phytocoenotic analysis of lichen flora were conducted. For the first time the lichen flora of protected territories was studied and it was found that 42 lichen species in need of protection in the territory studied.
