Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying the impact of persistent infections caused by C.pneumoniae and HSV on the clinical course and immunologic parameters of acute coronary syndrome. The findings about the negative impact of persistent intracellular infections on the course of coronary heart disease was detected. Serological markers of chlamydial infection determined in 39.3% of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Clinical course of myocardial infarction in patients with the association of C.pneumoniae and HSV often accompanied by prolonged pain syndrome (19.2%), acute left ventricular failure (30.8%), pericarditis (13.5%) and significantly greater rate of deaths (17.3%), compared with patients with antibodies to the HSV only (4.1%, 13.9%, 1.4% and 2.8% respectively, p <0.05). Feature of the immune status of patients with myocardial infarction, infected by C.pneumoniae and HSV, is the development of T-lymphopeny and imbalance between of T-helper and T-suppressor populations. An increase of IL-1 receptor antagonist concentration in patients with myocardial infarction, C.pneumoniae infected and HSV, compared with patients having antibodies only to HSV was revealed. Additional immune-modulating therapy with groprinozin in patients with coronary artery disease, having serological markers of herpes and chlamydial infections, contributes to immune status normalization, eliminate of immune imbalance and strengthen the immune response to persisting infection.
