Shyyan V. Badminton players' selection criteria at the stage of prior basic training

This thesis paper is devoted to development and justification of selection criteria for badminton players' at the stage of prior basic training due to the fact that one of the main problems in the system of athletes training, which the researchers are facing, is the search of talented athletes. Its successful solution to a scientific basis would enhance the effectiveness of sports training. The results of other scientists are augmented and extended with data concerning the relationship of indicators of physical condition and competition results. As a result of correlation and factor analysis, a complex of indicators which is recommended for selection of 12-14-year-old badminton players is identified. It is suggested to rate promising 12-14-year-old badminton players by the use of analytical models in the form of multiple regression equations. The components of the developed analytical models were indicators of functional, physical and psychophysiological readiness of athletes. For the first time, a computer program "Express-rating of promising badminton players evaluation at the stage of prior basic training" is developed; it is designed to determine the quantitative and qualitative skills assessment for the purpose of selection process improvement.
