Essay

The dissertation is dedicatd to the research on life and activity of the prominent Ukrainian engineer-railroader, entrepreneur, rail-bridge-builder and expert in communal economy, Amand Struve (1835-1898). The work depicts the major life stages, scientifically-organizational creation of the engineer in the activity context of the railway-bridge-building and communal economy. To make this historically-analitical research profound, the periodization of the scientist's creation line is carried out and the main stages of his formation are revealed. Scientific works are examined as well as organizational activity of Amand Struve is analyzed, which gives an opportunity to draw a conclusion about the potent engineer's contribution to such fields of domestic science as railway-bridge-building and communal economy.
