Dissertation is devoted to the identifying of the key characteristics and the trends for a single European legal order formation, as well as the theoretical and legal approaches to its understanding. The thesis analyzes the general theoretical principles of the formation and the development of the European law. The concept, the features and the functions of the legal order were formulated. It was identified the correlative relationship between the category of the European law and other legal categories, such as the rule of law, juridical state and civil society.
