Didkivska L. Flexible traffic light control methods in the conditions of transport flow parameters non-stationarity

The thesis is devoted to defining a field of effective functioning of the flexible technologies for traffic light control in the conditions of traffic flows parameters non-stationarity as well as developing criteria for their implementation appropriateness. Analysis of the object from the position of the statistical dynamics revealed inconsistency of existing recommendations on the issue due to lack of consideration for non-stationarity of parameters that characterize a process of vehicles arrival to stop lines of regulated crossings.The problem was being solved by using spectral-correlation analysis to determine parameters that characterize the stationarity level of the process under investigation, in particular its autocorrelation function. Received dependencies enabled considering the dynamics of the process under investigation depending on the roadway traffic load in time. The latter, in turn, provided an opportunity to develop improved decision-making methods on suitability of implementing of the flexible traffic light control technologies, depending on the traffic intensity at the crossing as well as the project cost.
