Essay

The dissertation is devoted the questions connected with maintenance of reli-ability of functioning of a railway transportation during the winter period, namely development of methods and warning facilities of occurrence and elimination of snow drifts. It is considered development of theoretical researches, evolution of methods and means of detention of snow by means of artificial obstacles and wood landings, and also mechanical means of clearing of snow in domestic railways of the Russian empire and Soviet Union, first of all in territory of Ukraine.
