Skorokhod V. Spatial structure of Shestovytsya archaeological complex in natural boundary Korovel' in the end of IX - beginning of XI centuries

Detailed investigation of Shestovytsya archaeological complex in natural boundary Korovel' was carried out for the first time in this dissertation. Analyzes of the spatial structure of the monument was realized basing on long-lasting investigations on the Hillfort, workshop area and lower town. Structure and chronology of the fortifications of Hillfort was examined and main stages of building up of its ground were singled out. Housing and household building up of work-shop area and lower town were analyzed, stages of existence of court yard building up were singled out. Social stratification of the inhabitants was defined basing on the materials from necropolis and settlement. Soldiering was examined and high level of armament of the Shetovytsya garrison was mentioned. Development of crafts, homecrafts, agriculture which developed on the territory of workshop area and lower town were analyzed. Main directions of the foreign commerce of the inhabitants of the complex were defined basing on finds of trade inventory and subjects of import.
