The object of study - the process of formation of the demand for passenger transport in large cities. Subject of investigation - of the formation of passenger correspondence in large cities. The aim of the thesis is to determine the demand for passenger transport route in large cities. To develop the theoretical foundations of determining the demand for passenger transport route used methods of formalization and mathematical modeling. To determine the number of possible states of demand used methods of combinatorial analysis. Testing the hypothesis of complete dependence on the choice of place of employment on the characteristics of the route of the work performed on the basis of correlation analysis of the results of sociological surveys. The task of determining the density of job opportunities in the big city was solved with the help of statistical analysis. The practical significance of these results is the developed methodology for determining the demand of the population of major cities for urban passenger transport route. Models that has been carried out, can be used in the development of rational choices of route networks in large cities. Scientific novelty lies in the fact that the first time developed an approach to defining the boundaries of the interval of possible matrices of correspondence in the large cities, based on the patterns of changes in the magnitude of the transport operation of urban passenger transport. For the first time formalized the dependence of the density of jobs in major cities on the distance between sites in the city from its center. The importance of the results of dissertation research supported by the introduction of regulations in carrying out research to promote sustainable options for the route network of Krivoy Rog and the calculation of the rational number, and the definition of accommodation, transport hubs in the city of Kharkov. Applications: planning the city administrations and research organizations in the development of rational choices of route networks of cities and development activities to improve their functioning.
