Essay

The thesis examines the theoretical background of using the project method in foreign language teachers' professional training. It provides a thorough study of the existing scientific literature on the problem. The necessity is established and substantiated of considering subject specialization of foreign language teachers in the process of their professional training, as well as the effectiveness of using the project method therein. The thesis suggests the system of skills and scope of knowledge within the components of the teachers' readiness for professional and project activity, with the criteria and levels thereof. The ultimate result of the research is development and approbation of the technology of using the project method in foreign language teachers' professional training.
