Stankevych O. The place of the European Union Commission in the legislative process.

The dissertation is devoted to a complex research of the role of the European Union Commission in the legislative process. The author studies the place and role of the European Commission in the EU institutional system, reveals the essence of the main types of powers of the European Commission, particularly the legislative powers, including within the cooperation between Member States in the sphere of Common Foreign and Security Policy, Justice and the Interior. The author investigates features of the decision-making process in the European Union and features of various legislative procedures, taking into account the Lisbon Treaty changes. It is proved that the place of the Commission in the legislative process is not limited to the right of legislative initiative, it takes part in the further process of the consideration of the draft of normative act, could exercise an influence on its content by reviewing its proposals already put forward at the stage of discussion, and it is also responsible for the proper performance of legal act.
