Dissertation is devoted to the grounding of hierarchical subjective-value model of functioning of defense mechanisms in the role of catalysts or inhibitors of the process of self-actualization of a personality. It is proved that psychological means of maintenance or locking of motivation to self-actualization act either firm or temporary actualization-protective patterns, which fulfill appropriate (ir) relevant function in a diapason of mutually determined intra-psychical formations "value priorities, subjective abilities, target reference points of life realization".
