Novelty of research - the experimental model of correctional methodology of development of the cognitive activity of deaf children at the age of 5-6 during the process of teaching swimming was developed and was given the scientific credence for the first time. It consists of three stages. The subject matter and the factors of cognitive activity of 5-6 year old children with hearing disorder were characterized. The evaluation criteria and the levels of development of cognitive activity of 5-6 year old children with hearing disorder were defined. The difference between the cognitive activity of deaf children and the children without hearing disorder of the same age was determined. The content level of the notion "Cognitive Activity" was defined more exactly.
