The possibilities of practical usage of culturology in family counseling in order to restore family traditions and adaptive value system, as well as in work with multi-ethnic families to overcome the negative psychological symptoms and improve the functionality of the family are revealed in the present thesis. Usage of culturology as "cultural therapy" is shown. Effective dialogue during the consultation is possible only if taking into consideration the culture of the person asking for help, as well as the deliberate attitude of the expert to his own culture. The great importance of this provision in the poly-ethnic and multicultural Crimean region is pointed out. Work experience of the author of the dissertation as a culturologist - psychologist from 2005 to 2011 proves that the family's role in the transmission of cultural traditions is huge, undeveloped value consciousness and the hierarchy of values leads to family conflicts, and then to the family crisis. Transmission of family values and traditions creates for a child a certain scheme for structuring his life, gives a sense of order and integrity. Author's examples of work with such families are given. Ways and measures necessary to achieve the desired result are reviewed and recommended. Algorithm for the preparation of culturology practitioner with the help of professional association of culturologists- consultants is proposed, goals and objectives of advisory work with the family, methods of culturologist-practitioner's work are formulated.
