The object is the formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils (from the 5th to the 9th forms) in the process of studying the basics of healthcare; the subject is the didactic conditions of the formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils (from the 5th to the 9th forms) and the ways of their realization; the aim is to reveal, substantiate and experimentally verify the didactic conditions of the formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils in the process of studying healthcare basics and to work out the ways of their practical realization; the methods are theoretical, empirical, experimental, statistical; the novelty consists in substantiating and experimental verifying of the didactic conditions of successful formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils in the process of studying healthcare basics (pupil knowledge of the features of the system as means of cognition; the formation of knowledge about health as the integrity of its components; simultaneous processes of the accumulation of the fund of valeological knowledge by adolescents and its formation as a system; the creation of understanding and awareness of themselves (in the minds of pupils) as not only the subjects of healthcare study, but also as the subject of their own health in the search of the ways of its formation, strengthening, preservation, recovering); the process of the formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils was analyzed as a system; the content and the process of the formation of the system of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils (from the 5th to the 9th forms) were specified and structured; the application of a systematic approach to the improvement of the quality of valeological knowledge of secondary school pupils in the process of studying the basics of healthcare received further development; the conceptions of the system of valeological knowledge and the matrix of the system of valeological knowledge were specified; the results consist in developing the ways of practical realization of the didactic conditions of the formation of the system of valeological knowledge and scientific/methodical materials for pupils and teachers of secondary and specialized schools of the first and the third category dealing with the basics of healthcare and the motivation for healthy way of life on the basis of a systemic approach; the field of science is pedagogy.
