Object - training of vocationally-orientated English language of cadets of higher military educational establishments. Purpose - to prove theoretically and elaborate the methodology of cadets' training of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension in English. Methods - theoretical, empiric, statistic. Novelty - training methods of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension of cadets of higher military educational establishments are proved theoretically for the first time; objective and subjective factors determining the effectiveness of training of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension are determined; the linguistic peculiarities of authentic speech of English-speaking military personnel are revealed. The structural components, criteria and levels of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension are defined in accordance with basic stages of realization of listening comprehension activity. The essence of notion "vocationally-orientated listening comprehension" is specified. Theory and methodology of training of vocationally-orientated English language of future officers have been developed. Results - methodology of cadets' training of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension in English has been elaborated; the complex of exercises, didactic materials and methodological recommendations have been developed to ensure effective training of vocationally-orientated listening comprehension. The efficiency of implementation is high. Domain - pedagogical, higher training establishments.
