Dissertation is dedicated to the study of thyroid status, the indexes of pro- and antioxidant systems, structural and functional changes of hypothalamus-hypophysis-thyroid axis in animals with thyroid hypofunction in conditions of iodine deficiency. The character of correlative links between the abovementioned indexes has been pointed out. Greater effectiveness of correction of hypothyroid dysfunction with Potassium iodide and alpha tocopherol over monotherapy with Potassium iodide has been experimentally proved. The revealed data can be used with the aim of improvement of prophylaxis and for the optimization of complex treatment of hypothyroidism
