The thesis suggests a new approach to the contrastive and typological study of the non-centered system of graphic means and devices in the American and Ukrainian postmodern verse texts; the complex methods for the analysis of graphic means and devices; the types of connection between the elements of the non-centered system of graphic means and devices have been determined; the nature of the paradigmatic relations in the organization of graphic linguistic and stylistic, compositional and stylistic means in the contrasted languages has been established; the specific character of syntagmatic relations in the structure of graphic devices in the American and Ukrainian postmodern verse texts has been determined.
