Object - professional training of future officers in higher military educational establishments; aim - to find out the influence of scientifically substantiated pedagogical conditions of forming professional-cognitive interest on the quality of professional training of future officers in higher military educational establishments; methods - theoretical, empirical, of mathematical statistics; novelty - the research has been the first to determine and provide a scientific analysis of pedagogical conditions of professional-cognitive interest forming in cadets of higher military educational establishments: provision of professional motivation of future officers' learning and cognitive activity; involving cadets in creative learning activity at different stages of their professional training; stimulating future officers to selfteaching; the term "professional-cognitive interest" has been specified as a system of psychic characteristics of intellectual, emotional, will-driven activity directed at mastery of the profession; results - the scientifically substantiated pedagogical conditions of future officers' professional-cognitive interest forming have been experimentally tested and are recommended for the consideration in higher military educational establishments. The theoretical ideas and practical data of the research have to be considered in organizing class and out of class activities with cadets of higher military educational establishments in the process of their professional training; field - pedagogy
