Research is devoted to the determination of set of professionally important qualities of specialist of rescue service of civil defense who serves as the guard officer, and to the development and testing of psychological means of their extension. The meaning and intension of concept of both "professional activity" and "professionally important qualities" are developed in the thesis. Conditions and psychological peculiarities of professional activity of specialists of rescue service of civil defense are determined. The set of professionally important qualities of specialist of rescue service of civil defense who serves as guard officer is researched. The levels of their development in this area specialists are defined. Training program of development of professionally important qualities of experts of mentioned above area is created and approved. Methodological recommendations concerning the including of additional experience and skills in educational-qualifying characteristic of "bachelor" and "specialist" in the sphere of Fire Safety are proved.
