Smirnova T. Cultural and artistic life of Volyn in the Enlightenment (the end of XVIII - the beginning of XIX centuries)

In the thesis the author examines the major events of late 18 - the first third of 19 century in the Volyn region, which became the foundation for future cultural development and national revival in Ukraine. Activation of cultural and educational movement appeared in active social, political, scientific cultural and educational, and artistic activities of Volyn intellectuals. On the territory of Volyn it is defined the main trends of political, social, economic, spiritual, cultural and artistic characters, formed by Western cultural and educational movement. Cultural and educational movement in Volyn was presented by creative work of local intellectuals, whose works facilitated the all cultural development. Thus, cultural and educational processes covered the development of Ukrainian science, education, literature, art and other elements of national culture.
