The methodology of development the students' abilities by disclosing lyrical imagery composition in different subject and genre features of poetry connected with the national and world culture at the lessons of Ukrainian literature in grades 10-11, highlights the progress and effectiveness of its testing are theoretically grounded in the dissertation. The basis of the developed methodology is the algorithm of disclosure lyrical imagery of the work, its execution of steps (actions) involves the formation of students' skills to experience and to reproduce received poetic image in the imagination and determine their own emotions, to make the poems' division at the semantic parts, to allocate key image of each part, to explain its ideological essence, to disclose verbal image of the artistic structure, to determine the form of artistic image expression and its aesthetic role in a particular context, independently interpret lyrical essay at the philosophical, psychological, ethnological and other basis, reading poetry artistically.
