Shchyptsov O. The Impact of State Maritime Policy of Ukraine on the Implementation of International Maritime Law in the Sphere of Safety of Shipping

Thesis is devoted to the study of state maritime policy as a tool to ensure effective implementation of international maritime law, including standards for the safety of merchant shipping. The paper contains analysis of the forms of international maritime law and state maritime policy interaction, authors' definition of state maritime policy, its object and subject, as well as international legal basis. The author proved that a state maritime policy is an ability to define to conceptually and implement national interests and priorities of the state as an active and reliable partner of international cooperation, particularly in making use of space and resources of the oceans, contributing to this end, more effective implementation of international maritime law.
