Drobnytska V. Pharmacological and therapeutic characteristics of metrisan drug and an improvement of the ways of its application in the treatment of endometritis in cows

The materials of the thesis are devoted to the determination of therapeutic effectiveness of antimicrobial metrisan at cow endometritis and improve the method of administration of liquid dosage forms in the uterus of cows. It was studied the clinical course of disease, reproductive capacity, blood picture, the species composition of the microflora of the cow uterus sick with endometritis before and after treatment, the sensitivity of the field microbial strains to the metrisan, and other antimicrobial agents, residual antibiotics in the milk of cows after treatment with metrisan, some parameters of toxicity. Microbial background of cow uterus at endometritis presented pathogenic microflora, leading part belongs to Escherichia coli. The high antimicrobial efficacy of metrisan at 18 from 19 studied cultures isolated from the uterus of cow sick with endometritis. Intrauterine administration of metrisan to cows eliminates clinical signs of the disease and helps to restore reproductive function of cows. Cow milk after metrisan administration is safe for antibiotic residues and therefore should not have any restrictions on use. It was established that metrisan at administration into the stomach meets the IV hazard class. Metrisan also does not have locally provocative action on the skin and mucous. It was developed and confirmed the effectiveness of a flexible catheter for the introduction of liquid dosage forms and taking the aspirate from the uterus.
