Essay

The object of research: an experimental cadmium, lead, and lead-cadmium toxicosis in animals and its prevention. The purpose of research: to develop an effective drug for the correction of the antioxidant defense system of animals under lead-cadmium load; to determine the features of this toxicosis, and to discover the pharmacodynamics and the mechanism of action of sodium selenite and feed additive "Metisevit Plus" on bulls organism affected of lead-cadmium combined toxicosis. Research methods: hematological (morphological, biochemical); pharmacotoxicological (acute and subacute toxicity); clinical (anamnesis, clinical examination of animals); statistical (processing of research results). Scientific novelty: "Metisevit plus" feed additive based on phenarone, vitamins A and E, methionine, Selenium, and Zinc has been developed. For the first time, a pharmacotoxicological evaluation of this feed additive was performed. New aspects of the pathogenesis of lead-cadmium toxicosis in animals are revealed. In particular, the combined effect of Lead and Cadmium on the antioxidant defense system of rats and bulls has been established. The effect of sodium selenite and Metisevit Plus feed additive on the protein-synthesizing function and functional state of the liver of rats and bulls under the combined load of Cadmium and Lead was studied the first time. The pharmacodynamics of sodium selenite and feed additive "Metisevit plus" on the antioxidant status of the body of bulls under lead-cadmium load was studied. It was found that "Metisevit plus" feed additives have advantages over the use of sodium selenite in preventing the adverse effects of Cadmium and Lead salts on the body of rats. It is confirmed that the effectiveness of feed additive "Metisevit Plus" for bulls (with a combined load of cadmium and lead) is justified and appropriate. It is established that feeding bulls this feed additive reduces the negative effect of Cadmium and Lead on their body, normalizes the morphological and biochemical parameters of the blood, the antioxidant status of the body of experimental animals. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is confirmed with the patent of Ukraine for a utility model № 77053. Proposed: A method of reducing the adverse effects of Lead and Cadmium on the body of bulls by introducing into their diet feed additive "Metisevit Plus" is proposed. It is theoretically substantiated and practically proved that feeding bulls supplement "Metisevit plus" helps restore the functional state of the liver, hematopoietic and antioxidant functions against the background lead-cadmium load. Received TU of Ukraine for feed additive "Metisevit Plus." Implemented: The materials of the dissertation are used in the study of disciplines "Veterinary Pharmacology," "Veterinary Toxicology," "Environmental Toxicology" by students of veterinary medicine, who study at the second (master's) level of higher education, for students of postgraduate education.
