Essay

The thesis presents the results of studies on the ways of environmental use of drained peat soils which have been removed from the intensive tilling. For the first time ever it has been studied the possibility of the plantation reforestation with willow. It is found that the mature forest phytocenoses (alder, birch) cause the most environmental effect on the drained peat soils. It is reasonable by providing the necessary economical and energy assessment to make tree plantations of quick-growing wood species (willow) with the purpose of hard biofuel production.
