Subject - Import Substitution Processes in the Open Economy. Objective - substitution of theoretical and methodological principles of formulation the import-substitution concept in the context of the surmounting of production structural imbalances and those occurring in foreign trade of Ukraine, and the development of practical recommendations for its implementation. Methods - general scientific and specific: induction, deduction, logic-theoretical, historic-logical, synthesis, comparative analysis, statistical, index analysis, economic-mathematical modeling, correlation analysis. Innovation - the deepened are theoretical and methodological principles of import substitution, and creation on this basis the concept of import substitution in the system of structural changes of the production and foreign trade, also the recommendations are developed for the given concept implementation. It is introduced by the Department of Foreign Relations and Foreign Investment Activity of Ternopil Region State Administration, by Volyn Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as in academic process for teaching the subjects of "International Economics", "International Commerce", "International Strategy of Economic Development" in Ternopil National Economic University.
