Essay

The peculiarities of addresses' functional, semantic and gender marks used in speech of characters in Ukrainian and French fiction are regarded in the research. It has been proved that the mechanism of the addresses' actualisation in the two languages under investigation is the same. The most productive models of addresses' functioning in communication are defined. The structure of addresses' functional and semantic field on the basis of examining linguistic and extralinguistic factors is laid out.
