The thesis is devoted to the research of English experience in the development of pedagogical staff training system with the aim of possible use in the system of pedagogical education in Ukraine. In the thesis the analysis of social and historical preconditions of reformation of pedagogical education system in Great Britain century are done; the leading tendencies in the development of pedagogical staff training at present are discovered; the ways of integration of pedagogical education in Great Britain are defined; the system of educational management in Great Britain is described, basic functions and tasks of its bodies are studied. The emphasis is on the students' reasoning and expressions, on their capacity to structure the problem and work out a solution. It is also on the process as well as the substance of inquiry, and a case discussion often ends with questions as well as conclusions. Different kinds of cases in different disciplines which are used in professional teacher training at pedagogical departments of the universities and at pedagogical colleges in Great Britain are presented and analyzed. In the thesis the technology of case-method of professional staff training is proposed, the ground of the terminology on the problem is carried out. Its structure and content are described. The main components of the technology of case-method are worked out. The necessity is established and substantiated of considering subject specialization of future teachers in pedagogics in the process of their professional training, as well as the effectiveness of using the technology of case-method. Practical recommendations concerning the application of the British experience in teachers education are suggested for applying in the system of higher education in Ukraine.
