Vishtachenko V. Ukrainian Avant-garde Painting: the Problems of Inspirations (by the materials of O. Gren's creativity).

The dissertation reveals and analyses creative heritage of the Podilian artist O. Gren as a significant part of the Ukrainian avant-garde. The author investigates culturological specifics of the artistic environment on the Ukrainian territory in the 20th. century; reveals artistic features of the native painting avant-garde; exposes the problems of inspirations in the Ukrainian avant-garde paintings. The stages of O. Gren's creative work and his artistic preferences formation are being studied; genre diversity of the master's artistic heritage and individual image-making methods are being analysed. The significance of O. Gren's artistic heritage for the modern culture and art is outlined.
