Koval V. Global competitiveness of transnational banks

The thesis is devoted to the research of the mechanism of financial globalization inference on the competitiveness of transnational banks. The thesis shows evolution of paradigmatic fundamentals of transnational banks competitiveness concept. The thesis also deals with the influence of key integration globalization and regionalization processes on the activity of international banks in the context of the world oligopolistic banking system establishment. Global determinants and endogenous factor of transnational banks competitive status are defined. Significant attention is devoted to the mechanisms of strengthening of competitive positions of transnational banks from the USA, Western Europe and Japan on the world financial markets. Ten-factor model of transnational banks global competitiveness evaluation and increase and its advantages in comparison with the existing methodologies of CAMEL, Standard & Poor's, Moody's, Thomson Financial Bank Watch and others are substantiated. Cross cultural peculiarities of strengthening of competitive positions of transnational banks from different countries on the global financial markets are defined. The complex evaluation of leading Ukrainian banks' international competitiveness is conducted and perspectives and ways of their financial positions' enhancement on the fouigh financial markets are defined. The level of international banking risk management effectiveness in the leading Ukrainian banks is discovered and the ways of its enhancement are proposed.
